Nigeria’s Salami loses his first fight in his boxing career to Freezy Macbones.

Freezy Macbones hands Nigeria’s Salami first boxing career defeat

Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, handed Nigerian boxer Oladimeji Salami his first career defeat in a middleweight contest at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

Salami was 5-0 going into the fight on Saturday, but Freezy Macbones’ third-round knockdown secured the Ghanaian boxer’s perfect victory. The bout between Senegalese boxer Seydou Konate and Freezy Macbones was initially slated to take place, but due to unanticipated events, it was called off and Salami took over.
Despite Salami’s first career loss, Freezy Macbones was unfazed by the Konate revenge setback, as he outclassed him.

The Ghanaian boxer started the fight off quickly, landing some solid body shots even if he didn’t land any obvious power blows.
The third round revealed Salami’s lack of preparation when he was caught off guard by Freezy Macbones’ barrage of punches, prompting the referee to intervene and end the bout.
It was Freezy Macbone’s third triumph in his professional career, particularly in light of his failure to qualify for the Olympics in September 2023 through the African Boxing Olympic qualifications.
