Barcelona eye loan move for midfielder Thomas Partey from Arsenal

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Spanish club are considering signing a midfielder like the injured Gabi for the second half of the season, and Partey is one of seven players they are eyeing.

Who has been on Arsenal’s exit list for some time, is said to have informed the club of his intention to leave in January.

The Ghanaian midfielder is currently recovering from a muscle injury sustained in October.

His return date is unknown.

There are concerns that they will not be able to participate in the 2023 African Cup of Nations, which will be held early next year.

Barcelona’s list also includes Renato Sanchez, Kalvin Phillips, Andrej Santos, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Jan Mvira and Grzegorz Krychowiak.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will sign Partey or another player on the list.

Meanwhile, Ghana is preparing for the African Cup of Nations, where they will face Cape Verde, Mozambique and Egypt in Group B.

His first match is scheduled for January 14, 2024.

Partey’s availability remains uncertain, but his potential move to Barcelona could be a huge boost for both the player and the club.

uventus are still looking for a new midfielder to compensate for the absences of Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli.

The Bianconeri have identified several profiles, including Thomas Partey (30). Although the Ghanaian is on his way out of Arsenal, the dossier seems more complicated than expected…

Arsenal are more determined than ever to put midfielder Thomas Partey up for sale. The Gunners intend to part with him this winter, but the dossier is not an easy one.

Partey’s career has been hampered by a number of injuries, not least during his time in the English capital, and although Juventus are interested, the Gunners are thinking twice before taking action.

During the summer transfer window, the Gunners had placed the former Atletico Madrid player on their list of departures, but no bids were forthcoming.

Under contract with Arsenal until June 2025, Partey, valued at 35 million euros by Transfermarkt, earns a huge salary with the Gunners, and this figure could well force Juventus to retract their offer and bring in a younger player with lower wages.

The Bianconera management have other names in mind, such as Georgiy Sudakov, Rodrigo De Paul, Lazar Samardzic and Eduard Spertsyan, although Thomas Partey’s experience remains an important element in this transfer.
